Next level vanity Googling | May 12, 2009

When I was just out of college I remember Googling my name and thinking that results were pretty crap. I think there was another Leah Gritton in Minnesota who had won an award for her work with pigs, and that was the result that came up first. Great.

Then, Facebook added the public search option and I started using other social media. So my search results got better. Now, Google is upping the anti. They just added Google Profiles, because that’s just what everyone needs, one more place to brand themselves online.

The Google profile kind of works like a resume or business card. You create your personal profile and add  employment info, education, interests, a bio, photos and links to other personal pages. Could be a great tool for people in the job market. Could also be a great tool for stalkers.
