A few years ago the first names that this word would have brought to mind were Ashton Kutcher, Beyonce, Cameron Diaz. But today, just reading through Dlisted shows that the idea of “celebrity” in our culture is definitely changing.

Project Runway on the Wii

That’s right my friends, I watch Project Runway even though it’s on Lifetime. I don’t really care what you think, it’s a good show. But I’m not so sure how the video game will translate. According to Variety it will follow the same format as the show. The player designs the clothes and styles the model with hair and makeup. Then the only twist is the player also gets to model the garment, strutting down the runway on the Wii balance board. I’m sure it will make for a popular Christmas gift.

I have the Wii and would get the game on several conditions: 1) If there was a gallery of inspiration where you could see what big name designers have created 2) If there was a chance to be able to buy the clothes you design 3) If I didn’t have to pay for it.

Modern coupon-clipping

Coupon clipping is one of those pass-times that sort of got lost after grandma. But deal hunting is definitely back and it’s getting a makeover. We may not be running for the circular every Sunday morning but we are scouring blogs and deal-sites, signing up for Haute Look or Rue La La emails, following Brokehipster.com on Twitter, and grabbing coupon apps for Facebook and iPhone. Social media is fastly becoming the new circular.

Yes, it takes a little time and energy, but this kind of savvy can save hundreds. For the future, I think any brand that helps find a way to aggregate, organize or streamline this process could win big. or maybe it’s a new start-up idea?

It’s addicting, accompanied by a sort of self-disgusted guilty high, and according to a Retrevo survey is popular after sex. In fact one in three under-35s texts, tweets or uses Facebook straight after sex.

I wonder if 5 years from now there will be a public ban on Facebooking as well? One could only hope but then, what would we all do on the subway?

Check out the rest of the results from the survey here.
